Sulphurous water emerging at 29 degrees at the Centre thermal, a Roman castrum in the history of the old town and Switzerland's first technology park: Yverdon-les-Bains mixes eras. On 31 December 2024, the municipality had 30,478 inhabitants according to its management report. We cross the border from Paris to film UGC, Reels and TikTok and Meta creative ads here, for shops in the centre as well as for companies in the technopole, on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel.
See our workY-PARC, 52 hectares of laboratories and workshops
Y-PARC presents itself as Switzerland's first and largest technology park, with more than 2,700 jobs across 52 hectares according to the technopole's website. The Commune highlights its centres of expertise in cybersecurity, medtech and robotics, and the proximity of HEIG-VD's research institutes. There are also long-established industrial firms, such as SCHOTT Suisse SA, born in 1968 as Guinchard Verre Optique in the cellars of Éric Guinchard's house and today specialised in cutting-edge optical components. They recruit engineers and technicians. A series of portraits shot at the workstation, a machine setter at his machine or a developer at her test bench, feeds the employer brand on LinkedIn and in Meta ads. For a start-up hosted by the Y-START incubator, the same day produces a thirty-second demo to show investors.
The Brandons, 45,000 visitors in three days
The City's 2024 management report recalls that the Yverdon Brandons have existed since 1870, originally centred on the sale of doughnuts. The 2024 edition drew more than 45,000 visitors over three days, with a confetti battle, dances under the marquee, 14 guggen bands and a Sunday parade in which more than 1,000 people marched. For a business in the centre, this is the weekend when the whole region is looking at Yverdon: a TikTok shot in the middle of the confetti, a bakery turning out its doughnuts on a production line, a bar filming the setting up of its stand. The calendar continues with the Fête de la Musique, every 21 June, then the Castrum & Cie festival, devoted to performing arts in public space, which brought together more than 12,000 spectators in 2024. A brand wanting to be associated with one of these events is better off shooting its teasers several weeks before the date.
30,478 inhabitants, a customer base that comes from further afield
On 31 December 2024, the permanent resident population reached 30,478 people, up 0.53% over one year, of whom 39% were foreign nationals, according to the municipal management report. For a shop in the centre or a garage in the industrial zone, the customer base does not stop at the municipal boundary, however: it can come from neighbouring villages in the Nord vaudois. The right question is therefore not how to reach only the people of Yverdon, but how to cover the catchment area that comes here to shop or work. We build the creative ads with landmarks that this whole area recognises, place Pestalozzi, the château or the lakeshore, and then set the targeting on that zone. With 39% of residents being of foreign nationality, a version subtitled in a language other than French often finds its place in the distribution plan.
Centre thermal, Maison d'Ailleurs and pedestrian streets
The Commune presents Yverdon as a spa town whose sulphurous springs gush out at 29 degrees at the Centre thermal. It is an obvious subject for wellness Reels: steam rising from the hot water in cold weather, a treatment filmed in close-up, always with the agreement of the establishment and of any clients present. The historic centre offers another register, with the medieval château, 18th-century buildings and pedestrian streets where people stroll in search of a specialist shop. The Maison d'Ailleurs, which the Commune describes as the only science-fiction museum in Europe, recorded 11,050 paid admissions in 2024: enough to inspire a café or bookshop in the neighbourhood to make offbeat TikToks. For restaurants, the terrace at the end of the day and the kitchen during service remain our two basic shots in UGC.
From Paris to place Pestalozzi: the logistics
No Esekai team lives in the Nord vaudois: we come from Paris by train to Lausanne and then by connection to Yverdon, or by the A1 motorway that serves the town. Crossing the border needs preparation, with customs formalities for professional equipment and any filming permits for public land, which we check with you beforehand. A scoping call then fixes the list of shots and participants. A typical day might start at Y-PARC for team portraits and workshop demonstrations, continue at lunchtime in a restaurant in the centre, then end the afternoon between place Pestalozzi and the lakeshore for atmosphere shots. For a seminar at La Marive, a modular venue that can host up to 900 guests according to the regional tourist office, we film the event and cut short extracts from it for social networks. Editing takes place in Paris.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
