Shooting, editing and publishing for brands in Lille

Lille has 238,246 inhabitants in 2023 according to Insee, but 183,864 jobs within its boundaries the same year: the city fills up every morning, and your videos need to speak to that audience. We come up from Paris with cameras and microphones to film on location, in the offices of Euralille as well as in the estaminets of Vieux-Lille. TikTok and Meta creative ads, UGC videos, Reels for shops: each format is designed for a metropolis where employees, students and business travellers cross paths.

A very dense city in a metropolis of 95 communes

With 6,840 inhabitants per km² in 2023 according to Insee, Lille is lived on foot, by metro or on a V'Lille bike. Its 238,246 inhabitants are only part of the audience, however: the Métropole européenne de Lille brings together 1.2 million inhabitants in 95 communes and 136,000 students, according to the 2025 figures from the Hello Lille attractiveness agency. For a Meta campaign, this changes the targeting. A shop in Wazemmes is better off aiming at a short radius with a creative that shows the street and the shopfront, recognisable in two seconds. A brand present across the metropolis, on the other hand, needs to shoot scenes that also speak to Roubaix, Tourcoing or Villeneuve-d'Ascq. The student population affects the tone: a testimonial filmed by a 20-year-old creator, in their shared flat or outside a lecture hall, sounds truer than a polished spot. It is often the first thing we sort out with a UGC agency in Lille.

Retail headquarters, EuraTechnologies and Eurasanté

The Lille metropolis is home to more than 80 retail headquarters, including Auchan, Decathlon and Leroy Merlin, and remains the cradle of distance selling with La Redoute and 3 Suisses (Hello Lille, 2025). For these marketing departments, we shoot series of creative ads: three different hooks on the same product, tested in parallel on TikTok and Meta. The area's 150 customer relations centres, which employ 10,000 people according to the CCI, recruit continuously: an employer brand video filmed on the floor, with two advisers describing their day, feeds directly into job ads. On the tech side, EuraTechnologies claims more than 600 resident companies across 145,000 m². A 45-second product demo shot at the Blanc-Lafont serves a start-up better than a brochure, at a trade show as on LinkedIn. Eurasanté, with 600 companies and 3,400 employees at the end of 2024, calls instead for educational formats and recruitment of scientific profiles.

Estaminets, the Wazemmes market and business travellers

Hello Lille counts 1,000 traditional restaurants, 430 bars and cafés and 1,200 fast-food outlets in the metropolis (Acoss data, end of 2023). In that volume, a restaurant Reel hinges on a dish everyone recognises: the welsh coming out of the oven, the carbonade flamande, the filled waffle from Méert, rue Esquermoise. We film in real service, with the noise of the dining room, then a to-camera take of the owner. On Sunday mornings, the Wazemmes market, which the tourist office presents as a near-compulsory stop, lends itself to TikTok vox pops and UGC for food brands. Tourism has a particularity: two thirds of stays are business stays (Observatoire métropolitain du tourisme, 2024). A hotel near Lille Europe is better off shooting two versions, one for the travelling executive, the other for the weekend, since 583,500 nights were booked through Airbnb in 2024.

From Series Mania to the Braderie: timing the shoot

Lille's calendar guides the schedule. Series Mania takes over March, with 4,200 participants at the professional Forum in 2024 according to Hello Lille: a good moment for media or streaming brands. The Braderie, on the first weekend of September, closes a large part of the centre to traffic and fills the streets: perfect for atmospheric TikToks, much less so for a scripted ad. In October, the Lille Street Food Festival welcomed 49,000 visitors in 2024, then November brings Bière à Lille and the Christmas markets. For settings, we like the courtyard of the Vieille Bourse and its second-hand booksellers, the cobbles and façades of Vieux-Lille, the belfry of the town hall, a UNESCO-listed site, the towers of Euralille for a corporate look, or the Citadelle for outdoor sports content. From November to February, the light fades quickly: we schedule exteriors for late morning.

A day in Lille, return trip via Lille Flandres

Lille is 62 minutes from Paris by TGV (Hello Lille, 2025): our camera operators make the round trip in a day, equipment in their luggage. The Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations are a few minutes' walk from Euralille, where the MEL counts 14,000 jobs, which means a shoot in offices can start at 9:30. Preparation is done in advance from Paris: video-call brief, photos of the locations sent by the brand, casting of UGC creators, permit request to the City if equipment is set up in public space. A typical day goes from a shop before opening, to a lunchtime service, to interviews at a company in the afternoon, then street shots in Vieux-Lille. Everything is filmed at passer-by height, which suits the UGC aesthetic. The versions for each platform are then edited in Paris.

Why?

Why creative ads deliver better results

An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.

Yes, provided you choose the right format. On the first weekend of September, a large part of the centre is closed to traffic and the crowd complicates any staging with actors. On the other hand, atmospheric TikToks, UGC shot among the stalls or restaurant Reels during the moules-frites rush work very well. We then book the trains and scout the streets several weeks in advance.

A light shoot, handheld camera, is often possible without heavy paperwork. As soon as a tripod or lights are set up or the walkway is obstructed, you need to ask the City of Lille for authorisation to occupy public space. In the Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations or in the Euralille shopping centre, it is the site manager who gives approval. We put these requests together during preparation.

It is even a useful reflex here: the metropolis shares 67 km of border with Belgium and the Eurometropolis exceeds 2 million inhabitants (Hello Lille, 2025). We shoot a common base, then variants: subtitles in Dutch for Flanders, local references for Tournai or Mouscron. The team can also follow up the next day with a shoot on the Belgian side.

A creative ads agency designs video ads built for social platforms: tested hooks, native 9:16 formats and data-driven iterations. At Esekai, every creative ad is produced in-house in Paris (script, shoot, edit), then adapted for TikTok Ads and Meta Ads to lower your acquisition costs.

Creative ads are structured advertising for paid media (TikTok Ads, Meta Ads). UGC videos mirror authentic creator content to build trust and convert. Organic content builds your social presence over the long term. The three are complementary.

We work on a six-month minimum. A video content strategy performs best over time: the first six months let us test, refine and optimise for durable, compounding results.
