Shooting, editing and publishing for brands in Besançon

Besançon has 118,489 inhabitants in 2023 according to Insee, and a good part of the local know-how, from watchmaking to microtechnology, fits in the palm of a hand. For a brand, the question becomes very concrete: how do you make a minuscule gesture legible on a phone screen? Esekai is a video agency that comes to shoot on site, with the team arriving from Paris. We produce TikTok and Meta creative ads, UGC videos, Reels and organic content, preparing each day according to the Besançon terrain, from the workshops of Temis to the quays of the Doubs.

118,489 Bisontins and 25,000 students

Insee's 2023 census counts 118,489 inhabitants in Besançon, a density of 1,821.5 inhabitants per km² and 64,378 households. At the scale of the wider area, Grand Besançon Développement announces 250,000 inhabitants and 25,000 students in its June 2026 brochure, which also recalls the title of France's top city for student life awarded by L'Étudiant in 2023. This student weight changes how we shoot. An audience of 18 to 25-year-olds, very present on TikTok, instantly recognises place de la Révolution, the tram or the Bouloie campus: for a brand targeting them, a UGC video shot with creators of that age, in those settings, convinces better than a national ad cropped to fit. Families call for other formats: a product demonstration in a kitchen, a testimonial at home, a Saturday-morning-at-the-market Reel.

Watchmaking, Temis and microtechnology: filming the minuscule

According to Insee, Besançon had 73,941 jobs by place of work in 2023 and 4,289 employer establishments at the end of 2024. Among the leading companies in Besançon, Grand Besançon Développement's 2026 brochure cites Breitling, Montres Lip, Utinam, Maty, Dodane, Safran Aerosystems and Sophysa, and presents Flowbird as one of the three world leaders in mobility systems that develop their solutions from Besançon. It describes Temis as the only French technopole dedicated to microtechnology, with the Femto-ST institute and its 750 researchers. The first use of video for these companies is hiring: a watchmaker explaining their gesture in thirty seconds, a technician showing their workstation, an employer-brand series designed for LinkedIn and Instagram. Here, the macro lens and controlled lighting do all the work, so that a hairspring or a connector reads without reflections. B2B launches are timed to Micronora, the international microtechnology trade show held every two years in Besançon.

From the Grande Rue to the Halles Beaux-Arts

Insee classes 72.7% of Besançon's employer establishments in trade, transport and miscellaneous services at the end of 2024. On the ground, you can see it in the Boucle, the historic centre enclosed by the Doubs: the pedestrianised Grande Rue, rue des Granges, then Battant on the other side of the bridge. For a shop or a restaurant, the effective format remains simple: a Reel shot at the counter with the owner, the plate leaving the kitchen, the customer tasting. Comtois cuisine looks great on screen, with its comté fondue, Morteau sausage and warm cancoillotte. At the Halles Beaux-Arts, a UGC creator can do their shopping to camera on a Saturday morning. For a hotel, the TikTok search "what to do in Besançon" calls for a short video linking the room, the view over the Doubs and an address in the neighbourhood.

Citadel, quai Vauban and Micropolis, depending on the season

The Citadel and the Vauban fortifications are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the view from the ramparts over the Boucle remains the city's most recognisable opening shot. Since we do not do drone work, these wide shots are filmed from the wall-walk, the heights of Chaudanne or the quays. The quai Vauban, the Cité des arts on the water's edge, the Micaud park and the astronomical clock of Saint-Jean cathedral complete the location scouting. The calendar weighs as much as the places. In 2026, the Foire comtoise occupied Micropolis from 8 to 17 May, the Bien urbain festival took over public space in June, and September brought the Festival international de musique, created in 1948, Livres dans la Boucle under a marquee in Chamars park and Détonation at La Rodia. In January, the Drôlement bien comedy festival takes place at the Kursaal and in several venues.

A shoot day between Viotte and the Boucle

The team comes from Paris by TGV, a journey that Grand Besançon Développement lists as 2 hours in its 2026 brochure. Depending on the train, we arrive at Besançon Franche-Comté TGV or at Viotte, from where the Boucle is reachable on foot. Before travelling, one call is enough to settle the script, the chosen creators, the permissions for public space and, in a workshop, the confidential zones to keep out of frame, a sensitive point in watchmaking as in the medical field. On site, a typical day covers a workshop or a kitchen in the morning, scenes of use in the pedestrian streets in the afternoon and atmosphere shots on the quays at the end of the day, when the raking light catches the blue-grey stone of the façades. For an SME in Temis looking for a UGC agency in Besançon, that can mean a technician filmed at their workstation in the morning, then their testimonial repeated to camera on the Battant bridge for a recruitment ad.

Why?

Why creative ads deliver better results

An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.

No, Esekai does not do drone work. Overall views of the Boucle and the Citadel are filmed very well from the ground: from the ramparts, the heights of Chaudanne or the quai Vauban with a telephoto lens. As the site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site together with the Vauban fortifications, we check the filming conditions with you before fixing the date.

It all depends on the target audience. For a student offer, the September back-to-university period works well: students are back and the city strings together the Festival international de musique, Livres dans la Boucle and Détonation. For a regional consumer brand, the Foire comtoise at Micropolis in May draws large crowds. The Christmas festivities offer easy settings in December.

Yes, it is even one of the most useful uses here. A watchmaking or medical subcontractor has no need for dance trends: it needs to show a gesture, a machine, a team. On TikTok, these short formats mainly help recruit technicians and apprentices, echoing the local training courses that Grand Besançon Développement cites, such as the lycée Jules Haag or Supmicrotech-ENSMM.

A creative ads agency designs video ads built for social platforms: tested hooks, native 9:16 formats and data-driven iterations. At Esekai, every creative ad is produced in-house in Paris (script, shoot, edit), then adapted for TikTok Ads and Meta Ads to lower your acquisition costs.

Creative ads are structured advertising for paid media (TikTok Ads, Meta Ads). UGC videos mirror authentic creator content to build trust and convert. Organic content builds your social presence over the long term. The three are complementary.

We work on a six-month minimum. A video content strategy performs best over time: the first six months let us test, refine and optimise for durable, compounding results.
