In the 17th century, Nevers established itself as the French capital of faience, helped by its famous blue, and two workshops still carry on this art in town. Nevers had 33,085 residents in 2023 according to Insee, and the tourist office places it 2.5 hours from Paris by train. A same-day return trip is therefore enough for our Paris team to shoot UGC content, Reels, TikToks and Meta ads on location for the shops, craftspeople and businesses of the Nièvre.
See our work33,085 people in Nevers and a population that is stabilising
After decades of decline, from 45,480 residents in 1975 to 32,990 in 2017, the population of Nevers has stabilised: Insee counts 33,085 in 2023. The share of 15 to 24-year-olds even rose from 13.1% in 2017 to 14.5% in 2023, while 65 to 79-year-olds make up 17.2% and those aged 80 or over 9.2%. The audience is therefore mixed, in a centre that revolves around the pedestrian rue François-Mitterrand. A video that works here plays on recognition: a shopkeeper you already greet, a familiar façade, a local voice. That is more convincing than a neutral backdrop that could be in any city. We also adapt the pace of the edit to the target, snappy for students and young professionals, calmer for the loyal customers of a long-established shop.
Faience makers, craftspeople and 2,658 establishments
Insee counts 2,658 economically active establishments in Nevers in 2024, of which 760 in trade, transport, accommodation and catering, 467 in public administration, education and health, and 144 in industry. In 2025, 414 businesses were created in the town. In this fabric of often small structures, the owner remains the best spokesperson: a manager who explains their trade in forty seconds inspires more trust than an overly polished spot. Faience gives the example. At the Faïencerie Georges, a manufacturer founded in 1898 by the Marest brothers and taken over by Émile Georges in 1926, the tourist office describes a preserved know-how: calibrating the pieces and freehand-painted decoration. Filmed in tight shots, these gestures serve brand content, online sales and recruitment ads to attract apprentices to the craft trades.
Négus, nougatine and 13 hotels
Nevers has its confectioneries, and their history is easy to tell on video. The Négus, a soft caramel coated in cooked sugar, was created in 1902 by the Maison Grelier after the official visit of the Emperor of Ethiopia, and is still sold at the Au Négus shop on the pedestrian street. Nougatine, invented by Jean-Louis Bourumeau and made famous by Empress Eugénie, is still made by hand according to the tourist office. For a confectioner, a baker or a restaurant, a Reel that cuts from the making to a customer tasting is worth more than a long description. On the accommodation side, Insee counts 13 hotels and 383 rooms on 1 January 2026, as well as a campsite with 76 pitches. With such a modest capacity, each hotel has every reason to look after its reviews and its short videos, because travellers compare quickly.
From the Palais ducal to the Loire quays, with a detour to Magny-Cours
The Palais ducal, built in the 15th century and listed as a historic monument on the 1840 list, opens its esplanade onto the Loire. Since 2021, its ground floor has housed the Centre d'interprétation de l'architecture et du patrimoine, and newlyweds parade there alongside municipal councillors. A corporate presentation against a backdrop of sculpted façade fits in there just as well. Below, the quays and the Loire bridge offer very photogenic end-of-day light for a Reel. For a car dealer or an automotive brand, the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, south of the town, offers driving days and will host the Classic Days on 24 and 25 April 2027. The Espace Bernadette, where Bernadette Soubirous lies, is a place of pilgrimage that calls for a discreet approach and prior permission.
A full return trip between Paris and Nevers
The 2.5-hour train journey quoted by the tourist office allows an early start and a return in the evening, memory cards full. Before leaving, we choose three or four neighbouring addresses by video call, since the whole of old Nevers can be crossed on foot, from the cathédrale Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte to the Palais ducal. In the morning, we film the workshop or the kitchen while activity is real; around midday, the dining room or the shop, with customers who have agreed to appear; then the atmosphere shots in town and along the Loire. The studio launched by Tony Lo has more than 350 client brands; a day in Nevers leads to several versions: short edits for TikTok and Instagram, subtitled versions for Facebook, hook variants for paid campaigns.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
