According to Insee, Aix-en-Provence has 149,695 inhabitants and 105,881 jobs in 2023: a city where people live as much as they work, with very different audiences on the same streets. As a video agency in Aix-en-Provence, Esekai comes to shoot TikTok and Meta creative ads, UGC videos and Reels on location for old-town shops, confectioners, SMEs in Les Milles and start-ups on the Arbois. The team arrives from Paris by TGV with a shooting plan fixed in advance.
See our work149,695 Aixois, 105,881 jobs and 8,580 establishments
Insee's territory comparison shows a population growing by 0.8% a year between 2017 and 2023, and that growth comes mainly from arrivals: 0.7 points is due to net migration. The commune also has 105,881 jobs at place of work in 2023 and 8,580 employer establishments at the end of 2024, of which 68.6% employ between 1 and 9 people. From a TikTok agency's point of view in Aix-en-Provence, these figures read simply. Newcomers are looking for a hairdresser, a gym or a practice: a geolocated Meta ad, filmed in the very place, finds them just as they settle in. Employees present during the day are best reached at lunchtime, with a short TikTok about the lunch deal. And a five-person business has no in-house videographer: one day of shooting gives it content for several months.
From Les Milles to the Arbois: recruiting and explaining in B2B
To the south-west of the city, the Aix-en-Provence business park brings together nearly 1,600 companies and 30,000 employees, according to the Tourist Office's current page on the association that runs it. On these sites, the number-one need is hiring: a technician presenting their workshop in thirty seconds, a new recruit describing their first week, a tour of the premises filmed like a TikTok rather than a corporate film. Higher up, on the Arbois plateau, the technopole has more than 110 companies according to the Métropole, including about forty start-ups in the Cleantech incubator, and 12 research entities. These companies sell technologies that are hard to explain (energy storage, water management, materials). A demonstration filmed in the lab, a founder to camera summarising the problem solved, short formats for LinkedIn and Meta ads targeted at decision-makers work better than a PDF brochure.
Calissons, place Richelme and the terraces of the cours
Commerce in Aix fits into a few streets: the old shopping town north of the cours Mirabeau, the boutiques of the Mazarin district to the south, and the producers' market that sets up every morning on place Richelme. It is a perfect ground for UGC. A creator opening a box of calissons, tasting, showing the almond and the icing, then naming the shop: this format sells as well to tourists planning their trip as to Aixois looking for a gift. Restaurants and cafés do well to film terrace service, the plating of a seasonal dish or the morning market where the chef does the shopping, then publish these Reels when visitors are planning their outings. A UGC agency in Aix-en-Provence also has to think about visitors who do not read French: an English-subtitled version is prepared at the editing stage, with no extra shoot.
From the cours Mirabeau to the Sainte-Victoire, season by season
The cours Mirabeau, 440 metres long and 42 wide according to the Tourist Office, offers plane trees, fountains and the façades of 17th- and 18th-century town houses in a single shot. We shoot there early in the morning, before the terraces fill up. The Terrain des peintres, in Cézanne's footsteps, gives the view of the Sainte-Victoire for an opening shot. The calendar matters: the Festival d'Aix drew nearly 64,000 people from 4 to 21 July 2025, which changes traffic, available light and the crowd in the centre. The blessing of the calissons, held every September (Sunday 6 September 2026 for the 30th edition, according to the Town), brings confectioners together around the Église Saint-Jean-de-Malte. In summer, access to the massifs may be restricted because of fire risk and the mistral disrupts sound: we plan for protected lavalier mics and a fallback location.
A shooting day between the TGV station and the old centre
We come to shoot on location: the team takes the TGV in Paris and gets off at Aix-en-Provence TGV station, which adjoins the Arbois plateau. A company in the technopole is a few minutes from the platform, and shooting can start as early as late morning. Before leaving, we fix the message, the hooks to test and the shot list over video call, then cast UGC creators suited to the target. A typical day in Aix links an employer-brand shoot at a site in Les Milles, an afternoon in a shop or restaurant in the centre for UGC, and a last sequence on the cours Mirabeau as the light drops. If the shoot takes up public space with equipment, we ask the town hall for authorisation before fixing the date. We do not do drone work: views of the Sainte-Victoire are shot from the ground. In editing, each batch of rushes becomes several creative ads with different hooks.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
