The château Grimaldi, where Picasso worked for two months in the autumn of 1946, still looks down over the ramparts of Antibes and the sea. Few towns offer so many settings in so few streets: old town, harbour, sandy beaches on the Juan-les-Pins side, coves around the Cap. The commune had 77,637 inhabitants in 2023 according to Insee, with a population growing by 1% a year since 2017. Our Paris team shoots UGC, TikTok and Instagram ads there in one or two days, with everything sorted before we leave.
See our workA town that grows through new arrivals
Insee's figures describe a commune that attracts people: 77,637 inhabitants in 2023 and average annual growth of 1% between 2017 and 2023, driven by newcomers, since natural change is nil according to Insee. Every year, families, retirees and working people discover the town without yet having their own go-to places: bakery, physiotherapist, Sunday restaurant, hairdresser. They look for them on Instagram, Google and TikTok. For an Antibes business, an introduction video shot in the shop, with the face of the person who greets customers and the name of the street, answers that search exactly. The commune also has 32,204 jobs in 2023, fewer than its inhabitants: many people work elsewhere in the département, which makes it worth posting early in the morning and in the evening.
Sophia-Antipolis next door, small businesses in town
The town presents itself as an enterprising city a stone's throw from Sophia-Antipolis and its technology. Within the commune itself, the fabric remains that of small businesses: at the end of 2024, Insee counted 3,741 employer establishments, 75% of them with 1 to 9 employees, 74.7% in trade, transport and services, and 4.6% in industry. For a tech company that is recruiting, proximity to the sea is a selling point, provided you show it without clichés: a developer cycling to the beach after a meeting, a team having lunch on a terrace. For a small service business, an estate agency, a practice, a holiday-rental concierge, a series of talking-head videos with the owner, shot in one morning, feeds LinkedIn, Instagram and the Google listing for several months.
Under the Cours Masséna market hall, morning and evening
The Provençal market sets up its stalls under the halle of the Cours Masséna every day from 7.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with extended hours until 1.45 p.m. in summer, and is closed on Mondays from 1 September to 31 May. In the afternoon, the same hall hosts florists, painters, ceramicists and engravers, until half past midnight from Thursday to Sunday in summer. It is a double-duty setting. In the morning, an olive producer or a greengrocer can be filmed in close-up, with the colours and noise of the market. In the evening, a UGC creator wanders between the craftspeople's stands for a discovery video. The restaurants of the old town, for their part, benefit from filming the set-up before service and the terrace at sunset, for visitors who choose their table on Instagram before going out.
Picasso, la Gravette and the beaches of the Cap
The Picasso museum occupies the château Grimaldi, where the artist left on deposit 23 paintings and 44 drawings after his 1946 stay; it officially became the musée Picasso on 27 December 1966, the first museum dedicated to the painter according to the tourist office. The terrace over the sea is one of the most recognisable shots on the Côte d'Azur. Just below, the plage de la Gravette, reached from the harbour, is sheltered from the wind and falls into the shade of the ramparts at the end of the day. Towards the Cap, the beaches of Ponteil and La Salis offer shallow sand for a children's or swimwear brand. On the Juan-les-Pins side, the town cultivates its link with jazz: Sidney Bechet got married there, and Antibes is twinned with New Orleans. Summer brings the light, but also the crowds.
From Paris to the ramparts: how the shoot is organised
We travel to Antibes by train, or by plane to Nice and then by road to the shoot location. Before leaving, we agree with you the scripts, the hooks to test, the creators and the list of locations, and we request the necessary permits from the town when the shoot takes place outdoors or on a beach. On site, the day follows the light: Provençal market and old-town streets early in the morning, interiors and interviews in the hottest hours, exteriors on the harbour or the beaches in the late afternoon. Out of season, from October to May, the streets are quieter and shots with no passers-by are easy to get. The rushes come back with us and are edited in Paris, with versions for TikTok, Instagram and paid campaigns.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
