The tallest Gothic vault in the world, 48 metres according to the French Ministry of Culture, towers over a town that millions of travellers only know for its airport. Beauvais had 55,906 inhabitants in 2022 according to Insee and remains the prefecture of the Oise. Esekai, a Paris-based production studio for social media, makes the short trip here to shoot TikTok and Meta creative ads, UGC videos and Reels, then delivers each idea in several hooks to test.
See our workA prefecture of 55,906 inhabitants that attracts 39,697 jobs
Insee's 2022 census gives Beauvais 55,906 inhabitants, a population that has been stable since 2016, with 21.4% aged 15 to 29. The commune has 39,697 jobs in 2023 according to Insee's full file, a volume that brings employees in every day from the neighbouring communes of the Beauvaisis. For a shop or a service business, the targeting area of a Meta ad should therefore follow these commuting patterns rather than the commune boundaries. The share of young adults matters too: a student filming her routine in town, her morning coffee or her favourite shop speaks to this audience far better than a traditional spot. For families in the residential neighbourhoods, the same message comes across through calmer videos on Facebook, subtitled so they can be watched without sound.
Brushmaking, agronomy and the Haut-Villé business parks
Insee counts 4,648 active establishments in Beauvais in 2024, and industry accounts for 13.1% of the commune's jobs in 2023, against 40.1% for public administration, education, health and social work. In its economic newsletter, the Agglomération du Beauvaisis cites companies such as La Brosse et Dupont, whose LBD group headquarters is moving to the new Saint-Mathurin ZAC in Allonne, and it organises meetings with the managers of the Haut-Villé and Larris business parks. The UniLaSalle engineering school, based in Beauvais, works with local companies on research and training. These profiles call for precise videos: a close-up of a manufacturing gesture for LinkedIn, a technician presenting their workshop for a recruitment campaign, a researcher explaining a project in one minute. The Beauvais'Hy green hydrogen project, backed by France 2030, opens up another subject to tell on video for the industrial companies involved.
6.7 million passengers a few kilometres from the centre
Paris-Beauvais airport, in Tillé, welcomed 6.7 million passengers in 2025 according to Air Journal, ranking it 9th among French airports, ahead of Bordeaux. For a hotel, a car rental company or a restaurant in town, this flow of travellers is a concrete audience: a short video showing the journey to the centre, the room or the evening's dish, shown on Instagram and TikTok to people planning their flight, turns a stopover night into a stay. On the retail side, Insee counts 1,443 establishments in trade, transport, accommodation and food service in 2024. A shop in the centre can commission a local creator to make a UGC try-on or unboxing video, shot in the store with place Jeanne-Hachette in the background.
Saint-Pierre, rue du 27 Juin and the siege of 1472
Saint-Pierre Cathedral, begun in 1225 and listed as a historic monument in 1840, has a 48-metre Gothic vault which, according to the Ministry of Culture, is a world record for this type of architecture. A €17 million restoration project over six years is under way, due to finish in 2028: scaffolding and shoring are part of the scenery, so check before framing your shots. For facade shots, the morning gives a softer light on the stone. The local calendar revolves around the Jeanne Hachette festivities, held on the last weekend of June, which re-create the town of 1472, when it resisted the troops of Charles the Bold: a medieval market facing the cathedral, a royal procession along rue du 27 Juin, a tournament on Saturday evening. The tourist office has announced the cancellation of the 554th edition: each year we check that the event is actually going ahead before locking in a shoot.
Organising a shoot in the Oise without losing the day
Beauvais can be reached by train from Gare du Nord or by the A16 motorway, which means the team can leave 40 rue du Colisée in the morning and be on site for a first shot before noon. Beforehand, we approve the script and shot list remotely, secure the permits to film in public spaces or on an industrial site, and, for a UGC campaign, cast creators who live in the Oise. A day can start in a workshop in the Haut-Villé, continue with a filmed lunch in a restaurant in the centre for a Reel, then end on the cathedral forecourt in the late afternoon. Editing is then done in Paris. Esekai, founded by Tony Lo, has supported more than 350 brands on this principle: a single trip, several formats ready for Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
