Since 1998, Vevey has officially presented itself as a "city of images", and the phrase is no empty slogan: a biennial of monumental photography, a camera museum, a school of visual communication. The municipality has 20,179 residents at 31 December 2025 according to Statistique Vaud. For brands on the Vaud Riviera, we come from Paris with a light crew and shoot UGC videos, Reels and TikTok ads on location that hold their own in a town used to beautiful images.
See our workA city of images, from the Biennale to PictoBello
The City of Vevey notes that the "Vevey, ville d'images" concept was launched in 1998 to bring together the image-related businesses and institutions active on the Riviera. The CEPV trains students in photography and visual communication, the Swiss Camera Museum traces the history of photography up to the digital age, and since 2004 PictoBello has handed the town's billboards over to illustrators. Created in 2008, the Biennale Images Vevey installs monumental photographs in the streets every two years, with artists such as JR, Martin Parr and Cindy Sherman; the next edition opens on 2 September 2028. For a brand, shooting here sets a high bar: the public is used to polished imagery. UGC formats work when they stay sincere, but the framing, lighting and editing must be flawless.
20,179 residents, 39.6% foreign nationals
Statistique Vaud counts 20,179 permanent residents in Vevey at 31 December 2025, of whom 12,190 Swiss nationals and 7,989 foreign nationals, or 39.6%. This diversity changes how a campaign is designed: a single video can be adapted into French and English, even Portuguese or Italian depending on the target clientele, with UGC creators who genuinely reflect the population. Vevey also lives off its economic role on the Riviera, where the organisation Promove, backed by 13 municipalities and more than 300 member companies, supports business setups and start-ups. Nestlé's global headquarters, on the lakeshore, is a reminder that international groups rub shoulders here with SMEs and independent shops. For a young company in the region, a first series of creative ads shot on its premises, with its founders speaking to camera, is often worth more than a corporate film.
Grande Place, Tuesday market and folklore market
On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, the Grande Place hosts the market for fresh and local produce. From July to September, a folklore market organised by the Société de développement for more than forty years is added on Saturday mornings, celebrating Vaud wines and folklore. The square is being redeveloped in phases, but the City specifies that the usual markets and events continue during the works. For a wine merchant, a cheesemonger or a restaurant, these appointments provide a lively waterside setting: the tasting at the stall, the producer's gesture, the customer leaving with their basket. A Reel shot on a summer Saturday can be published that same evening.
Cave de l'Hôpital and vineyards above the lake
Once surrounded by vineyards, the town still owns the Cave de l'Hôpital, where the wines of the Vevey vineyards are made: 11 hectares spread over five vineyards, farmed by three contract winegrowers (vignerons-tâcherons), according to the municipality. Just to the east begin the terraces of Lavaux, a World Heritage site. For a wine estate or a local-produce brand, the region offers rare images: rows of vines sloping above Lake Geneva, dry-stone walls, vaulted cellars. A short video following a winegrower from the vineyard to the cellar, then to the table of a Vevey restaurant, speaks to residents and visitors alike. The grape harvest, in early autumn, gives the liveliest shots; winter is better suited to cellar tasting scenes, in softer light.
Preparing a Vevey shoot from Paris
The crew reaches Vevey by TGV to Lausanne, then by regional train along the lake, with light equipment that lets us do everything on foot between the station, the Grande Place and the quays. Beforehand, we write the script and its opening lines remotely, sequence the shots and choose Romandy creators, and check with the municipality the permits needed to film on public ground. A typical day starts on the quays at dawn, when the lake is still calm, moves on to your shop or offices for the product and the faces, then winds through the lanes of the old town, between the Grande Place and the Jardin Roussy, for the UGC sequences. The footage goes back to France that same evening, and each video is delivered with several subtitle languages if your clientele requires it.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
