Cruise ships dock almost at the foot of the old town, a few steps from Napoleon's birthplace: in Ajaccio, the historic centre, the harbour and the bay all fit into the same shot. The city is gaining residents: 76,320 recorded by Insee in 2023, up from 66,245 in 2012. Esekai flies in from Paris to film Meta and TikTok ads, UGC content and Reels with Ajaccio's shops, hotels and businesses.

Between 2012 and 2023, Ajaccio's population rose from 66,245 to 76,320 inhabitants according to Insee's full file, an increase of more than 10,000 people. The share of under-15s reached 18.4% in 2023, against 15.2% in 2012: many young families have moved in. For a brand, these are new households that have not yet formed their habits, whether for the bakery, the gym or the music school. A TikTok or Instagram campaign that shows a place in concrete terms, with its opening hours, its parking and its team, helps them choose. Economically, the commune had 39,779 jobs in 2023 and 1,132 businesses created in 2025, nearly three quarters of them sole proprietorships: a pool of craftspeople and self-employed professionals who need simple content, shot quickly and reusable all year round.
Construction, services and island businesses
Insee counts 8,049 active establishments in Ajaccio in 2024. Construction accounts for 12.4% of them, with 1,000 establishments. Trade, transport, accommodation and food services account for 1,903. For a building contractor, video is a way to show a finished site, a before-and-after of a facade or apartment renovation, and to recruit skilled workers when labour is short. For a service company, a short film introducing the team and the way they work reassures a customer who cannot compare ten competitors on the island. Companies that sell to the mainland, in food and drink or Corsican products, have a different need: product content designed for Meta, where Ajaccio origins and the landscapes of the bay become a credible reason to buy.
Ferries, planes and 336,000 cruise passengers
The 2025 review of transport in Corsica published by DREAL gives the scale of the flows. Ajaccio airport remains the island's busiest, with 1.7 million passengers in 2025. The port is Corsica's second for ferries, with 977,000 passengers over the year excluding cruises, up 7.3%. Ajaccio also welcomed 336,000 cruise passengers in 2025, and nine out of ten cruise ships calling in Corsica stop there. For restaurants on the harbour, ice cream parlours, the shops of rue Fesch and boat rental companies, these visitors have only a few hours. They often choose on their phone, even before disembarking. A fifteen-second Reel showing the terrace, the plate and the route from the quayside answers their question exactly. According to Insee, the commune had 26 hotels and 1,391 rooms on 1 January 2026, including eight four-star establishments.
Napoleonic Days, Sanguinaires and the old town
Every year from 12 to 15 August, the Pays d'Ajaccio tourist office organises the Journées napoléoniennes around the birthday of Napoleon, born in the city on 15 August 1769: costumed reenactments, bivouacs, parades, imperial dances and concerts in the centre, notably place Foch. For a local brand, that is four days of crowds and period settings to film for TikTok. The rest of the summer, light decides everything: we shoot early in the morning in the old town's alleys and at the market, then at the end of the day on the route des Sanguinaires, when the sun sinks towards the islands. Out of season, from October to spring, the city is easier to film, the terraces are accessible and the citadel stands out against a clear sky: it is the right time to prepare the content for the following season.
Organising a day of filming on the island
Ajaccio is reached by plane from Paris, and the airport is only a few kilometres from the centre. The Esekai crew travels light, with equipment that fits in the cabin and the hold, and hires a vehicle on site if the schedule goes beyond the city. As the trip takes more organisation than a train journey, we are happy to group several shoots into two days: a hotel in the morning, a restaurant at lunch service, a craftsperson in the afternoon. The brief is approved remotely: shot list, people filmed, local UGC creators to cast, any permits needed on the port. We then deliver versions adapted to each platform, with subtitles, several hooks for the ads and short cut-downs for stories.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
