In the evening on place Plumereau, students and visitors gather under the lanterns that light the half-timbered façades: this is the setting the people of Tours call "place Plume". Tours has 139,259 residents in 2023 according to Insee, and its metropolitan area 301,339, of whom 16.1% are aged 15 to 24. Esekai, a Paris video agency founded by Tony Lo, takes the train to film your UGC, your Reels and your TikTok and Meta creative ads on location, in streets your audience recognises at first glance.
See our workA dense city, two audiences to film
With 4,016.7 inhabitants per km² in 2023 (Insee), Tours is a city lived on foot: between the station, rue Nationale and Vieux-Tours, you meet within minutes the people a brand wants to show on screen. The age pyramid of the metropolitan area tells two stories. On one side, 48,514 young people aged 15 to 24 in 2023, a target reached with to-camera UGC, product tests and fast hooks on TikTok. On the other, more than one resident in five is 65 or over, an audience that responds better to calmer, subtitled Meta formats with a genuine testimonial. Another useful figure: only 32.1% of households in Tours own their home. For an estate agent, a furniture retailer or a removals service, a flat viewing filmed by a tenant speaks directly to the majority of the city.
From the CHRU to the Mame, a service economy
The municipality concentrates 88,506 jobs in 2023 and 5,103 establishments at the end of 2024, 78.2% of them in trade, transport and services, according to Insee. Its most visible pillar is hospital care: the CHRU de Tours claims more than 9,000 medical and non-medical staff. For a healthcare facility, a clinic or a practice that is recruiting, short portraits of care staff, filmed on the ward during a handover, say more than a job advert. Another signal: 68.4% of the city's establishments employ between 1 and 9 people. These businesses have no communications department, so we shoot a full series in one go: an introduction to the manager, behind the scenes in the workshop, an answer to a customer objection. For the young companies housed in the former Mame printing works, the launch video and the B2B product demo for LinkedIn are the two formats to plan first.
Terraces in Vieux-Tours and close-ups of rillettes
Around place Plumereau, the Grand-Marché and rue Colbert, bars and restaurants follow one another in the pedestrian zone. For a restaurant, the Reel that works here follows a simple logic: the terrace filling up, a plate leaving the kitchen, a customer tasting and reacting without a script. Local produce lends itself to the same treatment, starting with the rillettes de Tours, filmed being sliced at a pork butcher's or spread on the terrace with a glass of Loire wine. On the tourism side, the city is a starting point for the châteaux: hotels, bike hire firms and organisers of traditional boat trips on the Loire, such as the Boutavant company, have every reason to publish "my weekend in Tours" UGC, shot by a creator playing the visitor, from check-in to dinner.
From Vitiloire to La Guinguette: the Tours calendar
In late May, Vitiloire sets up 140 estates representing 70 AOCs in front of Tours station (30 and 31 May 2026 edition), with a food village and chef demonstrations: a perfect ground for a cellar, a wine merchant or a food brand that wants real-life tasting reactions. From early May to late September, Tours sur Loire 2026 announces more than 150 free events at La Guinguette on the banks of the Loire, joined by the Beaumonts, the Sanitas and the night markets. In late September, the Perf Act Days of the Centre chorégraphique national take over the forecourt of the CCC OD and the Jardin des Vikings. Out of season, Vieux-Tours keeps its assets: the listed façade at 26 rue de la Monnaie, the narrow lanes towards place des Joulins, the Basilique Saint-Martin, and heated restaurant interiors for winter shoots.
How we organise a shoot between the station and the Loire
It all starts remotely: brief, choice of formats, creator casting, then location scouting from photos and Street View to set the order of locations. Tours station opens directly onto the centre, which often saves hiring a vehicle. A typical day starts early on place Plumereau, before the terraces open, to film the façades without crowds. Late morning, we move into a kitchen or a shop for product shots and testimonials. The afternoon is spent on the quays, where low light on the Loire gives beautiful video endings, and we save dusk for the lanterns of Vieux-Tours. For a light setup in public space, we check the formalities with the City in advance. Editing is then done in Paris, with several hooks per video to test what holds the Tours audience.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
