The sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was born on rue des Marchands in 1834, and his house has been a museum since 1922: in Colmar, history is told façade by façade. The town has 66,970 residents in 2023 according to Insee, and its half-timbered houses are among the most shared settings in Alsace. For winegrowers, hotels and old-town shops, our team comes from Paris to shoot UGC videos, Reels and TikTok ads that show something other than the postcard.
See our workCapital of Alsace wines, 170 kilometres of vineyards
The tourist office presents Colmar as the capital of Alsace wines, at the start of a wine route inaugurated in 1953 and 170 kilometres long. The Alsace vineyard covers 15,500 hectares under appellation, produces more than 150 million bottles a year on average and accounts for 18% of French AOC white wine production excluding sparkling. Seven grape varieties, from Sylvaner to Gewurztraminer, give as many stories to tell. For an estate, the useful video is not a prestige film but a short series: the winegrower tasting in the cellar, the harvest filmed on a phone by a creator, a food and wine pairing explained in forty seconds. This content supports direct online sales and cellar visits, and a single day of shooting feeds several months of posts.
Six Christmas markets and illuminated squares
At the end of the year, six traditional Christmas markets set up in old Colmar, each with its own tone according to the Christmas markets office: Place des Dominicains at the foot of a church whose 14th-century stained glass lights up at nightfall, Place de l'Ancienne-Douane in front of the Koïfhus, whose state rooms host an indoor art-craft market, Place Jeanne-d'Arc for local produce, and a gourmet village on rue de la Montagne-Verte. For a shopkeeper, these weeks concentrate most of the year: a TikTok published in November must make people want to come, a Reel shot on site in December must make them want to come back. The little chalets were designed by architects to respect the heritage, making them a polished setting for a decor or festive treats brand.
What Insee says about Colmar's economy
Colmar provides work well beyond its own residents: Insee counts 46,375 jobs there in 2023 for 27,628 employed residents. Among the 6,723 active establishments listed in 2024, 1,882 run shops, transport, accommodation or food service, or 28%, a high share that reflects the weight of tourism and town-centre retail. There were 31 hotels and 1,751 rooms at the start of 2026, as well as 68 bakery-pâtisseries and 120 hairdressing salons in 2025. These figures outline concrete video needs: a hotel recruiting its seasonal teams before December, a bakery wanting to make its kougelhopf known beyond its street, a salon showing its cuts as UGC. With 21.6% of residents aged 65 or over in 2023, a Facebook version often complements the TikTok edit.
Foire aux vins in summer, covered market all year round
Every summer since 1948, the Foire aux vins d'Alsace takes over the exhibition centre: 350 exhibitors, more than 1,500 wines presented for tasting and a concert programme now in its 77th edition. For a regional brand, it is a consumer show where you can film visitor reactions, demonstrations and behind-the-scenes, to be published during the fair rather than afterwards. The rest of the year, the covered market, on the banks of the Lauch and Petite Venise, brings together about twenty traders: greengrocers, butcher, cheesemonger, fishmonger, baker. A caterer or restaurant that sources there can build a three-part Reel, from the stall to the kitchen to the plate. The lanes around, the Maison des Têtes or the Tanneurs quarter then offer recognisable backdrops for the to-camera sequences.
Coming to shoot a UGC campaign in Colmar
Colmar is reached by TGV from Paris, and the old town can be covered on foot from the station, which means working without a vehicle and with light equipment. Everything is prepared in advance: script, hooks, shot list, casting of Alsatian creators if your target is local, and permit requests to the town for public space. During the Christmas market period, we book the crew's accommodation very early and shoot exteriors before the chalets open. A typical day starts with the deserted lanes at sunrise, continues at your premises for product shots and interviews, then ends at nightfall when the façades light up. The files go back to Paris in the evening; post-production then delivers variations that differ only in their opening, to let the delivery figures decide.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
