In Albi, even the tourist office tells the story of the city through creators: its in-house duo, “Cécile et Henri”, tests restaurants and foodie outings on video for its followers. Proof that short-form already speaks to the 51,290 Albi residents counted by Insee in 2023 and to visitors to the Cité épiscopale. We make the trip from Paris to film Meta and TikTok ads, UGC videos and Reels for shops, restaurants and employers in the Tarn.
See our workSainte-Cécile, the Berbie and UNESCO status since 2010
The Cité épiscopale d'Albi has been a World Heritage site since 2010, Albi Tourisme reminds us, centred on the cathédrale Sainte-Cécile and the palais de la Berbie, home to the Toulouse-Lautrec museum. This brick setting is recognisable in a single frame, which is an asset for a brand that wants to anchor its video in the South-West without saying so. A restaurant in the old town can open its Reel on the cathedral façade before stepping into the kitchen; a home décor shop can have a UGC creator pose in the lanes of the canons' quarter. The Berbie gardens, hanging above the Tarn, make a very readable opening shot. As everywhere in a listed site, the esplanade draws crowds during the day: we shoot early, in a small group, and request the necessary permits for any set-up bigger than a creator with a phone.
Prefecture, campus and 32,515 jobs
Albi punches well above its population: Insee counts 32,515 jobs there in 2023 for 18,131 employed residents of the town. The prefecture of the Tarn concentrates administration, a hospital, secondary schools and higher education, with the Institut national universitaire Champollion and IMT Mines Albi. It shows in the makeup of the population: 15 to 24-year-olds make up 16% of residents in 2023. Of the 5,705 active businesses and organisations in 2024, 1,120 come under public administration, education, health and social work. For these employers, video is first of all a way to attract candidates to a mid-sized city: a nurse presenting her ward, a lecturer-researcher showing his lab, a young graduate explaining why they stayed. These are short TikTok and LinkedIn formats, shot on the workplace floor, with no studio.
Covered market, place de la Pile and Gaillac winemakers
The covered market, on rue Émile-Grand, is open Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 2pm, a stone's throw from the cathedral, and on Saturday mornings the open-air market on place de la Pile surrounds it. On Thursday late afternoons, the foirail du Castelviel hall hosts a producers' market of growers based less than 60 kilometres away, set up with the Chambre d'agriculture du Tarn. These are first-rate filming locations for a caterer, a wine merchant who works with Gaillac wines or a restaurant that buys short-chain: the producer, the gesture, the plate. Insee counts 53 bakery-patisseries and 99 hair salons in the town in 2025, enough to gauge the local competition. On the hospitality side, Insee counts nineteen hotels in early 2026 with a total of 694 rooms, often small, which would do well to show their rooms and breakfast on video.
Video games at the exhibition centre, craft on rue Mariès
Albi's calendar isn't only about heritage. The Albi Games Festival holds its fifth edition on 31 October and 1 November 2026 at the exhibition centre, in Le Sequestre, with video games, cars and geek culture, and this year a Star Wars universe in the spotlight. For a games shop, an accessories maker or a digital school, it is a chance to film an audience of enthusiasts and publish TikToks over the weekend. In the town centre, the crafts and second-hand booksellers' market sets up on rue Mariès on Wednesdays and Saturdays: a craftsperson finds a natural backdrop there to present their pieces on camera. The Tuesday evening organic market, on place Fernand-Pelloutier, offers an end-of-day light that suits food content and local product brands.
Organising a shoot with a UGC agency in Albi
The team leaves from our offices on rue du Colisée and reaches Albi by train, changing at Toulouse, or by car when the equipment requires it. The work begins well before departure: script, the first seconds of each video, shot list, and selection of UGC creators who live in the Tarn, Champollion students or young professionals depending on your target. On site, a full day can start at the covered market at opening, move to your premises by late morning for product shots, continue in the afternoon with customer or employee testimonials, then finish on the banks of the Tarn when the brick catches the evening light. Back in our 8th arrondissement offices, a single day in Albi becomes around ten short-form videos, each with two or three different openings to compare in paid distribution.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
