On Tuesday, Friday and Sunday mornings, the town centre's metal market hall and its surroundings gather 300 stalls, and few locations in Île-de-France speak as loudly to a camera. Since its merger with Pierrefitte-sur-Seine in 2025, Saint-Denis has had 149,077 inhabitants in 2023 according to Insee, with an economic fabric that runs from building sites to the studios of La Plaine. Esekai, a social ads content studio in Paris's 8th arrondissement, takes Line 13 to Basilique to shoot UGC, Reels and TikTok or Meta ads there.
See our work149,077 inhabitants, two town centres since 2025
The Insee figure of 149,077 inhabitants in 2023 is calculated for the new merged commune: since 1 January 2025, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine has been a delegated commune of Saint-Denis. A brand targeting “Saint-Denis” on Meta therefore reaches two town centres, not one. Density reaches 9,453 inhabitants per km² in 2023, and the commune recorded 2,059 registered births in 2025. According to Insee, the 2022 census counts 66,230 residents under 30 out of 148,907. For us, this translates very concretely: UGC creators recruited among young parents or local students, scripts designed for an audience that discovers brands on TikTok before seeing them on the shelf, and short variations that speak to the 59,580 households counted in 2023 without sounding like an institutional poster.
From La Plaine Saint-Denis to building sites: who drives the economy
Insee counts 101,937 jobs in the commune in 2023, 92.7% of them salaried, and 4,912 employer establishments at the end of 2024. One figure is surprising: 16.3% of these establishments are in construction, against 10.9% nationally. At La Plaine, the setting changes completely: office buildings, film studios, and the headquarters of Plaine Commune on avenue Jules-Rimet. The intercommunal body promotes an image, digital and audiovisual sector, the Cité du Cinéma and trade shows such as SATIS-Screen4All or Cross Video Days. Video needs follow this map: portraits of site foremen shot on location for a building SME looking for skilled tradespeople, product demos filmed in an open-plan office for a digital start-up, stand teasers to publish on LinkedIn the week before a trade show.
Under the market hall, Reels that smell of spices
Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme presents the market as the heir to the Lendit fair, with products from the Maghreb, the Caribbean, Africa and the Mediterranean, and Île-de-France market gardeners such as René Kersanté, Saint-Denis's last market gardener. The 19th-century hall was restored in 2005. For a restaurant in the centre, the format that works is simple: the chef buys his produce at 7.30am, we follow him to the pass, and the Reel ends on the plate. A grocery or food brand finds UGC testers here who taste and comment to camera between two stalls. On the tourism side, the basilica-cathedral welcomed 147,718 visitors in 2024, a record linked to its illumination during the Paris Games: the neighbourhood's hotels and cafés have plenty to feed a “a morning in Saint-Denis” TikTok.
June at the basilica, match evenings at La Plaine
The Festival de Saint-Denis takes over the basilica and the Maison de la Légion d'honneur from 28 May to 23 June 2026. During these weeks, the forecourt fills up in the evening, which suits a concert venue, a caterer or a fashion brand wanting shots of an elegant crowd leaving the concerts. The basilica's west façade catches the light in the late afternoon, a good slot for an opening sequence. The Stade de France, cited by Plaine Commune among its major sites alongside the Cité du Cinéma, imposes a different calendar: on event days, transport and surrounding streets are saturated, so we move office shoots at La Plaine to other dates, unless the match atmosphere is precisely the subject. Market mornings, meanwhile, are reserved for food content.
From Miromesnil to the Basilica with no change
From rue du Colisée, the team walks to Miromesnil station and rides to Basilique de Saint-Denis: on its northern branch, Line 13 links our offices directly to the historic centre. For La Plaine, RER B and RER D serve the stations around the Stade de France, and Line 14 goes as far as Saint-Denis Pleyel. Before the day itself, we agree with you on the locations, the permits for the hall or the public highway, the creators and a shot list for each format. A typical day starts when the market opens, moves on in late morning to in-store testimonials, spends the afternoon at your premises and ends on the forecourt as the light drops. You leave with several hooks per video, edited for TikTok, Instagram and Meta placements, ready to be tested against one another.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
