In Nanterre, a single day's shoot can move from a bakery in the old centre selling the local rectangular brioche to the lobbies of the head offices built behind the Grande Arche. According to Insee, the prefecture of the Hauts-de-Seine had 97,783 inhabitants in 2023, and almost as many jobs within its borders (97,355 the same year). A video agency in Nanterre therefore has to speak to two audiences: those who live there and those who spend the day there. From our offices on rue du Colisée, the RER A drops us on site without a change.
See our workA city where people work as much as they live
Insee's figures paint a very dense commune: 8,021.6 inhabitants per km² in 2023, on a territory the City puts at 1,220 hectares. Add to that Paris Nanterre university, which welcomes 35,000 students and 2,000 teacher-researchers according to the City's presentation page (updated April 2026), and 3,285 employer establishments recorded at the end of 2024. For a brand, Nanterre is not one audience but three: the student coming out of Nanterre-Université station, the office worker on a lunch break on the Terrasses, the family spending Saturday at the parc du Chemin-de-l'Île. A single shoot can feed three versions of an ad, with a hook, a setting and a creator adapted to each. The results are often better than with a single version designed for the whole west of Paris.
From the Groues to the Préfecture, headquarters to film
On its presentation page updated in April 2026, the City counts around 8,000 companies and 96,000 employees, plus 15,000 civil servants. It also presents itself as the Paris region's leading digital hub after Paris. The big names show in the landscape: Vinci has consolidated its head office at L'Archipel, on the edge of the Groues district, where nearly 4,000 of the group's employees moved in September 2021 according to Paris La Défense, in a complex whose tower rises to 100 metres. For this type of group, as for the neighbouring publishers and IT services firms, the video needs are specific: portraits of employees filmed at their desks, short formats for LinkedIn and Instagram that show the real offices, B2B launch content shot to camera. A UGC agency in Nanterre can also produce testimonials from apprentices, of whom there are many given the proximity of the campus.
Brioche, Château and shopping hubs
The City counts around 2,000 shops and 2,400 craft businesses, spread between the old centre, the Chemin-de-l'Île, Cœur Université, the Terrasses de l'Arche and the Groues. The local speciality suits a short format well: the tourist office describes the Nanterre brioche as rectangular, made of six to eight balls, and sold all year round by many bakeries in the town centre. A Reel that shows the balls being shaped at dawn, then the window display at opening time, tells a craft story in fifteen seconds. Another rare setting: the Château de Nanterre, a former toothpaste factory built for Docteur Pierre in 1900, which houses a restaurant and an escape game. You can picture a group TikTok testing the puzzle, or a UGC video presenting the event space to the teams at neighbouring head offices who are looking for an after-work venue.
Rue Volant, Anciennes Mairies and the Ferme Géante
The old centre offers very different backdrops a few streets apart: the Sainte-Geneviève cathedral and its frescoes of more than 1,000 m², rue Volant and its multicoloured shutters, the parc des Anciennes Mairies with the villa des Tourelles (1824) and the Conque, which receives a new monumental work every two years. On the calendar side, the tourist office lists the Ecozone festival in May, with a highlight at the parc du Chemin-de-l'Île, then Parade(s), the street arts festival that brings together more than forty companies in the Centre and the parc des Anciennes Mairies (the 2027 edition is announced for 28 to 30 May). Summer brings Nanterre plage and open-air cinema. At the end of November, the Ferme Géante covers the streets of the centre in straw and sets up nearly 200 animals and a market of more than 40 exhibitors: for a shopkeeper preparing year-end sales, that is two days of images impossible to recreate in a studio.
A shoot organised from rue du Colisée
Nanterre is one of the cities where travel weighs least: line A links Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile to Nanterre-Préfecture, Nanterre-Université and Nanterre-Ville, and the RER E serves Nanterre-La Folie. We come to shoot on site with the equipment, with no overnight stay to plan. Preparation is done beforehand, remotely: brief, scripts, casting of Île-de-France creators who match the target audience, then checking with each site's manager (the City for the old centre, the Département for the parc André-Malraux, Paris La Défense on the Groues side). A typical day starts at the client's offices for interviews and team shots, continues at lunchtime in a restaurant near the Préfecture, then outdoors in the afternoon for the UGC sequences. We leave with several hooks per video to test angles online.
Why creative ads deliver better results
An ad that looks like an ad gets skipped in a second. A creative ad works on the hook, the message and the format so it is watched to the end, then tested and adapted for as long as it converts.
